Meet the bloggers

So just who is this motley crew blogging elite anyway?

Joe Marcantonio

Joe has been a Young Adult Librarian since 2006 and before that he was just a mere young adult (until one fateful day when was bit by a radioactive book turning him into the mythical YA librarian). Employed by the Plainfield (IL) Public Library, Joe *mostly* uses his librarian powers in the fight for truth, justice, and the American way. Oh yeah, he also edits this blog. (Joe is not the penguin)

Kelly Durov

Kelly has worked in Youth and Young Adult Services since 2001. She currently works as the Children’s Services Manager at the Park Ridge Public Library. She enjoys most games (mind and otherwise), including Guess Who?

Becca Boland

Becca is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.

Sarah Strahl

Sarah is the teen services librarian in a northwest suburb of Chicago. She graduated from Indiana University Bloomington and then again from SLIS at IU Bloomington after a brief hiatus in the home insurance industry. She doesn’t recommend this kind of hiatus, especially during hurricane season, and thinks that Librarianship was the right ship to jump aboard.

Karen Cruze

Karen Cruze is young adult librarian in north suburban Chicago. A Jersey girl who used to hang out in Seaside Heights long before Snooki and the Situation, she loves Bruce Springsteen (that goes without saying), Southern California (where her daughter lives), Westerns, alternative country, and solitaire. She hates winter. She’d be a cowboy if that was possible, and would prefer that every month was June. Her favorite young adult novels are I Am the Messenger by Marcus Zusak and Weetzie Bat by Francesca Lia Block.

Rose Allen

Rose Allen, Teen Librarian is recently retired, but will always be an advocate for teens.  She enjoys reading, running, gardening, and drying flowers for custom Potpourri blends. Will celebrate 30 years of marriage in 2011. Contact me if you need an assistant for a teen program.
